Saw actual an actual snake (schlangen) here, 10/10! And a lizard!
The path itself is a very cool staircase shortcut to the Philisophers road above and offers great views!

For me this was the coolest part of the Philosophersweg trip. Its nice to go between the old walls.

This path takes you up the mountain and rewards you with a breathtaking view of the Heidelberg city, the old bridge, the river and the castle. The climb uphill can be a bit tiring but there are places along the path to rest and catch your breath. Nice photography opportunity from up above.

The Schlangenweg, a former vineyard path, sepentines up the steep, south-facing slope of the Neckar valley, squeezing between high, mossy walls, overhung with branches, occasionally opening up with serendipitous vistas. The pedestrian route connects the Old Town with the Philosophenweg via the Old Bridge.

Hike of about 30 mins and you reach the top to a view like this. On the opposite side of Heidelberg Castle. So, you get to see both old bridge and castle together.

Nice walk but a little hard. Beautiful view to eat some food and take photo of Heidelberg's Castle. Very peaceful.
