It’s a cute set of sculptures with a monkey and two mice. The monkey’s head is hollow. Tourists like to have their pictures taken by standing behind the monkey’s face. The monkey holds a mirror in his hands. It is said that touching the mirror will bring you wealth. If you stroke the outstretched little and index finger of the monkey’s right hand, this means that you are coming back to Heidelberg. If touching the mice next to the monkey, lots of children are predicted. Lol. Such a legend. No wonder the mirror, the fingers and the mice are all so shiny.

Brückenaffe means bridge monkey ???????? It's a cute piece of art.
It is said touching the gold disk will bring wealth, rubbing the fingers ensures a return to Heidelberg.

Visited Heidelberg Castle on a cruise tour. We had a terrific guide called Thomas who was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history to life. He showed us the town centre where we had some free time and we visited the old bridge. Loved Heidelberg and any visitors can't fail to be impressed.
