Käthe Wohlfahrt is based out of Rothenburg and is a famous maker of handmade Christmas tree ornaments and other holiday items. They have shops throughout Germany including one in Nuremberg along Königsstraße, which we visited recently during our stay in the city. Opening hours are 10am to 7pm daily.
This is a great shop to see excellent quality tree ornament and other Christmas items which you can purchased year round. Their window displays are quite inviting. Once you enter, you find walls lined with beautiful ornaments and tables full of impressive Nutcracker figures, traditional German Christmas pyramids even a handful of traditional cuckoo clocks on the walls, all of which are really nice to see even if you don't plan on making purchases.
During our visit to the Nuremburg Käthe Wohlfahrt shops earlier this month, we ended up purchasing four new tree ornaments which now sit beautifully in our trees back home. They really stand out next to ornaments of lower quality. The craftsmanship is really there with the Käthe Wohlfahrt ornaments.
Will happily revisit Käthe Wohlfahrt shops when we encounter them during visits to European cities in the future.
