Ideally placed for the main Munich train station. This is a cute and funky hotel. We found the staff polite, and the room clean and very well designed to make use of the more limited space. You need to be intimate with anyone you share to room with, as the shower is separated only by a glass sheet ????. Currently (August 22) there appears to be some upgrades being made which meant there was some bare wiring in the public areas, but this didn't detract from our stay. Breakfast offered a good variety, and was fresh and very tasty. Would certainly recommend for a short stay.

overall this is a decent budget friendly hotel. i would recommend it if you’re okay with the room setup (see comments below). i would not stay here again if i visit munich in the future.

pros: hotel is conveniently located near the train station which is how i arrived. staff is super friendly and helpful. the gave us coupon voucher for snacks or drinks since we opted out of housekeeping service.

cons: i was traveling with my sister and son so we needed three beds (a triple room is what i was told i needed). what i got was a room with two twin beds together made up as a single king bed and another room with a full size bed. inconvenient but not the end of the world. we had next to no light in the king room so it made organizing and packing ones stuff difficult. the worst part is the shower situation. one can be seen while showering as there is a clear glass pane on the side of the king room looking into the shower room. needless to say we had to schedule showers for privacy. i guess this is a thing? not even my husband and i would enjoy that to be honest.

Staff is pretty friendly and helpful, great location, room OK for the price but the main reason why I put 2 stars is because there were works in front of my room. I was waken up at 9am with the noise - I went to Munich to relax and rest and had the opposite experience. I complained at the reception but nothing was done to make me feel happier. So it’s a good hotel but I would double check with them if there are works going on before booking a room.

Comfortable rooms with unique cosy cocoon feel as might be expected. However there are a lot of glass walls and doors both in the room and in the corridors and this can cause issues for people.
I hurt my head badly in the hall on a glass door and went to tell the concierge, he seemed to know the drill and gave my ice in a plastic bag and a towel!

Good experience- simple and clean rooms with cool glassed in shower
Only drawback was that they were clearly doing some renovations throughout the hotel, they started the building work at 7am which isn’t great if you’re a light sleeper - we weren’t told about this before or during our stay
Staff were polite

It's a clean and modern hotel within walking distance to the main train station, Karlsplatz (Stachus, where we took all our public transport during the stay) and the city center (Marienplatz). We had a deluxe room.

The neighbourhood is fine and you're just one street away from Karlsplatz, but our street itself was a bit dirty and had some "weird people" hanging around. As a woman, I'd have definitely felt uncomfortable walking around alone at night without my partner.

Positioned near the center of Munich, some 10 minutes walk from Marienplatz.
Rooms are nice and tidy, maybe a bit too small. Bonus is a bench which can be transformed into a small 1-person writing i.e. work table.
Room had a swing attached to the sealing, which I consider as a nice touch. Bed is comfortable, I wish I could say the same for a pillow. Bathrooms are just fine.
Staff is kind and they have arranged an underground parking for us just couple od blocks down the street, in another Cocoon hotel, which has access to underground parking spaces. All in all, very positive expirience, just a bit shy of excellent. I can recommend it easily, maybe more to younger generations, because of it's style and funky design vibe.
