Overall I enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately the air conditioning didn't work so it was very hot in the room. The staff didn't really address this situation. If my stay had been longer, this would have been a more serious problem.

The breakfast buffet was good. But it seemed that there wasn't enough staff to refill some of the things. I would probably go to HENRI again if I wanted a place close to the city center.

If you are looking for better service and comfort, there are better alternatives in Hamburg.

A very unique, spacious property with an incredibly nice and helpful staff, in an ideal location for visiting all that Hamburg has to offer. They even brought me out a cupcake on my birthday during breakfast (they knew from my passport) which was an incredible touch and tells you the level of detail and customer focus that they have.

The Henri Hotel in downtown Hamburg is a gem. The hotel is decorated with a 50-60’s theme which makes it very cozy and warm. In addition the staff is marvelous. Friendly, hospitable and caring. The location of the hotel is excelente as it is close to shopping malls, restaurants and sightseeing. This is a place highly recomendable. We loved it!!

I was not pleased with my stay here. The primary reason is that the air conditioning was not working in the rooms, and although it wasn’t terribly hot, an open window was still needed to sleep comfortably, but I was awoken several times by the occasional street noise and then by city workers chopping down a tree at 5:50am. The air conditioning situation was certainly beyond their control and the staff was pleasant enough in explaining it, but I feel like a gesture beyond an apology should have been offered - a drink, complimentary breakfast, anything to compensate guests for not receiving something they have paid for such as a comfortable temperature. Other notes - I didn’t particularly enjoy buzzing into a locked door and climbing up the stairs with a suitcase to access the lobby or lounge. I was also put off by the over-commercialization at work in the common areas - every corner had something to sell with a big price tag on it. I thought this was especially tasteless in the kitchen area. Again, maybe I just felt stupid paying €3 for a bottle of water when I paid €173 for a room without temperature control. There was too much here that was annoying for me to consider this a positive stay, and at that price, there are various better value options around Hamburg center.

Nice cosy cafe with good rooms and service. Rooms have own coffee machines, just the start you need for a good working day.
