Food was alright but notably worse than pre Covid. Service: staff was nice but extremely inexperienced. One had to take it with humor. Wait between main and desert was totally unacceptable (50 minutes). We started the 6 course menu at 7:30 pm and weren’t done until 11:40 pm.

Fancy place,a bit overpriced. They have menu only in German though the staff is more than willing to help with the translation. That atmosphere is a little bit pretentious. But overall the food was tasty and service was impeccable. Definitely recommend for long slow half voice conversations over glace of wine. Wouldn't advise for a cosy family dinner.

Serving good quality food in a beautiful city. It's a little overpriced. I didn't find it overly pretentious at all, in fact it is lacking a little in ambiance of any kind - the red behind the bar is more like what you find in a bistro and some light background music might be something to introduce given that tables are quite close together. The Grauburgunder was a bit disappointing also. On the food side, the most important, the dessert was perfect, just incredibly delicious and we also really enjoyed the starter (a tartar), and the mains, swordfish and calf from the set menu (set menu costs 58 euro per person, or 45 euro if taking only one main -- portions are small-medium size. I recommend serving more squid with the swordfish though as it is mentioned on the menu card and I expected it to feature more. But overall, well done, just the ambiance lets the food down a bit.

High quality restaurant, great food and wine. A perfect evening. We loved the trout and the smoked burata...

Drexler's is somewhat unique in Freiburg. The restaurant offers a incomparable variety of German and international wines including France, (yes, also Burgundy!), Italy, Spain, Austria, etc. at very reasonable prices. Also remarkable, is the very extensive choice of wines which can be ordered by the glas. This goes both for white and red wine.

The food is somewhat international cuisine with a mediterranean influence. Only a couple of dishes, but all of them very well prepared.

The restaurant is in a small and not very scenic side road close to the ***** Colombi Hotel. The place is rather small and often pretty crowded due to its unique character. Therefore, reservation is usually required. Besides locals folks the restaurants also attracts a suprisingly international crowd of business people and some tourists.

Therefore if you are a winelover coming to Freiburg, need a break from German food and beer and would like to discover what great wines Germany has to offer and would like to compare them with some international wines, Drexler's is the place to go!
