Yesterday evening, I went with my family to eat at Calice D‘oro, hoping for a lovely time with my family. When we ordered our food, an old waiter was passive aggressive towards us as we didn’t know how to speak German or Italian but English. We let it slide as we still managed to place our order and just hoped it was a one-time thing. After I ordered, I realized I was pointing at the wrong dish on the menu card, so I immediately went to the waiter to change my order in hopes that I wouldn’t be stressing the kitchen. When I asked the waiter, he started to shout in (assuming Italian), to which I, in response, replied with “sorry” multiple times. That apparently wasn’t enough for him as he looked outraged. Although there was a slight language barrier and I mistakenly placed the wrong order, I am very saddened by this aggressive response to a customer. The food was alright, and the rest of the waiters were friendly and accommodating. Sadly, that couldn’t take my mind off this very uncomfortable experience I had with the aggressive waiter. To top it all off, another old waiter scoffed at us. The reason why? My dad accidentally pressed the wrong code, apologized and asked if he could try again. In response, the waiter gave us a side glare.

Even though we as customers had made our mistakes and apologized politely, the treatment was a horrible experience for my family and me. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anybody who would love to experience peace and joy with your family. Nobody should experience this kind of treatment.

The food was good with small portions, however the service could use improvement.

My friends and I ordered entrees and beers with bread for the table. We had to remind the server two times for our beers and eventually they came out. We asked the server three times for bread, with each time our server saying “of course!“, however the bread never came once. The entire time the server seemed not interested in our table and more worried with other interests.

*As it became time to pay for our bill, the server told us a tip was not included to services and asked us if we would like to add a tip. The time that he asked for a tip was the most engaged and interactive with us the entire visit.*

This is Italian restaurant 2.0 !!
Absolute worldclass food and outstanding service level by a very friendly staff.
Offering good wines for reasonable prices.
Out of many the best Italian restaurant I ever visited. Highly recommended!

Good Italian restaurant. The service was so friendly and funny and helpful. So nice to find a place with friendly waiters/servers! My salad was huge. The pasta was garlicky in a perfect way. It’s a very pretty restaurant.

Lovely Italian restaurant. Good service and very clean. The menu is not extensive but the food really good.

In all the restaurants we dined at in Berlin, Ristorante Calice D'oro does not only serve authentic Italian dishes but the service staff was the funniest, helpful, patient and kindest I have met. Definitely coming back for more should we drop by Berlin again. The tiramisu alone is enough reason for me.
