A great example of how you should never go by just google reviews alone! All the other higher rated restaurants were messing around with their lunchtime opening from 12 to 12:30 to 1pm and we were starving so we decided to give Kainz a go. We were pleasantly surprised with the service and food. A lovely family run establishment that deserves a little more credit! ????

Some days ago, I was visiting this beautiful town, I have to make a stop to eat something and on the way I found this beautiful restaurant. I would like to say that I'm satisfied with the food, the location is quite comfortable for the tourist, the service was only "good".

Nice restaurant with traditional food and good service.
I ate there some goulash soup, which was good but it was brought in a very small cup.
The Apfelstrudel is good and the mulled wine was also good.

We visited with a party of 9 including adults and children. Everyone loved their food, without exception and I have the pickiest 6 year old. Chicken nuggets were homemade (not frozen and heated), pasta was absolutely phenomenal, all the burgers were all wonderful, chicken wings were great and the chicken and rice was as well. Awesome frites! Super clean and updated, roomy restroom. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Spoke English well which is very helpful for us since our German speech is lacking in skill. Highly recommend!

Great local beer, best Schweinshaxe around (sauerkraut was way sour then you may be used to but I loved it), and the strudel was damn tasty. Snappy service too. Definitely better than just 3 stars.

Small portion for high price - our worst and most expensive meal during two weeks trip and was hungry after that. Card machine didn't work so had to use our last cash for the payment - they should have informed that beforehand.

The location is good, it's very close to the castles and museums. We ordered Käsespätzle and Cheeseburger with two Cokes. The food was ready in no time which is a plus.
But even though there were two different glass sizes they didn't ask us and just brought the big ones. While drinking we realized and told the waitress, she said in a rude way that we didn't mention while ordering so they assumed we want the big size.. While eating there were so many flys that we couldn't enjoy it at all.
So overall the service wasn't good and the food was just so normal and overpriced. Wouldn't go there again.
