I was thinking it is a church but it turns out that it is a city hall. When you come to Marienplatz, this structure will meet you. You should definitely go to the top of the city hall. You will see charming view.

Going up in the bell tower was super easy. We purchased the tickets online using the QR code and went up in the elevator with no wait time. At the top we were alone. We did this just before 7pm. The views are hands down worth the price of admission.

Figurines of Bavarian history that plays like a small scene every day from March till October at 11 a.m. 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Bavarian royalty, sword and horses duel with medieval knights and the legendary Bavarian dance are what you will witness for 6 minutes during this historical show. don't miss it when you pass in Mariensplatz.

Beautiful neo gothic clock tower in the heart of old Munich. Definitely worth coming to see, but come early. The show only goes on twice a day at 11am and 12 noon. Definitely a fun treat and when in a city that is so expensive, being able to see something for free is always cause for relief.

Glockenspiel located at Marienplatz - New Town Hall in Munich.

A lovely tourist attraction clock which consists of 43 bells and 32 life-sized figures.
It chimes and re-enacts two stories from the 16th century, at 11am, 12pm and sometimes 5pm as well. Can be watched free of charge.
The show lasts about 15 minutes. At the end, a golden rooster at the top of the Glockenspiel crows thrice, signalling the end of the spectacle.
