In Summer 2022, I have stayed in Holiday Inn Munich – Westpark for 18 nights. My experience was complete disaster, and I can without hesitation say that it was the worst hotel experience in my life.
Housekeeping: Housekeeping was disaster. They do not vacuum clean the carpet. They did it once on request at the reception. They do not refill stuff like toilet paper which I eventually run out and need to get more from reception. They have never replaced my bedsheets during my entire stay. Once on Saturday they do not even came, despite I had sign on the door indication they can clean up my room (and reception did not care who and where). On the last day when I had „Do not disturb sign“ on door, they came in when I was getting out of shower.
Room: Internet was slow (I was waiting for pictures to load), there was people sitting in hallway in front of their room where the router was to get a better connection, like on some hostel.
Carpets were filthy. There were three huge stains on the way toward my room. In my room there was some chewing gum stepped into the carpet when I arrived.
Beds are really really soft. I mean soft in a way that is painful to lie on the back. This might be personal opinion, but for the first time ever I needed to adjust my sleeping position, because it was not possible to sleep on my back as I am used to.
Fridge was not working on my arrival. Control button was loose, but I have managed to fix it myself.
Reception: Validation of the parking at reception was 50/50. Sometimes they even managed it to get it right on the first try.
Change of billing information – I have stayed in this hotel three weeks prior my last stay and I need to get my billing information adjusted to fit company needs. I have tried to reach hotel by mail with original invoice attached. No reply. I send second mail. Got reply week later for different person on different stay. So email communication doesn’t work as well
Nobody take in concern that when I booked the stay I noted in reservation that I wanted to get room closer to elevator (got room 159 out of 166max).
Sauna and breakfast were the only things which were fine.
Overall impression is that I have never experienced this bad price-performance ratio.
