Heidelberg is not lacking in great supermarkets. There are supermarkets and, there are supermarkets! Edeka Scheck-In is well laid out and I love the fresh vegetables of sorts, fruits, good quality Meats and Fish, a good Japanese sushi/Chinese dim sum corner, and you can eat there and have sake! What is grocery shopping without breaking your bank account and yet you feel well treated? Staff are bi-lingual in German and English. Location is easily accessible with good parking facility,(with free electric charging lots), or a tram station at its doorstep. Clean toilets. Other shopping and eateries nearby.

I love this place, maybe because its new, but it's always very well organized and for me they always have free samples. Just the other day for 5 euro they had oysters and procecco.. can't beat that!

4 stars for the prices this is not a place for main shopping for people on a budget. Now if you aren't wallet constrainted. Then this is probably one of the best shopping stores in the entire region. They have a massive selection and the produce section has to be the biggest in the area for sure. Not just big but covering a wide range of produce from different areas and regions.

I have been inside this store just about 4 times now. Wide range of fruits ( a bit expensive for me). Nevertheless, the Bio range is affordable. Huge assortment of all types of food, drinks and other edibles from Asia as well. Fresh products. I just bought a pack of popcorn..will taste it tommorow ✌️

The best grocery shopping experience!
Always clean, wide variety of foodstuffs, friendly service (most of the time), a bit expensive especially the fruits and veggies compared with other supermarkets.
The well organised shelves, the different kinds of regional and international stuff, and the wide spaces while walking down the aisles make the shopping experience more fun.
Their bakery is so good, especially the cakes they bake taste heavenly.
