Their raspberry chocolate cake is to die for. Its so damn good. I have never eaten something so fresh ever.

Even the bread and brötchen are mostly very delicious, the prices are out of this world. On top, the people that work there are mostly very unfriendly and slow on top. I rather walk a few meters more and buy my bread from Görtz, even I need to wait longer in the line.

They call this pancakes for 6.5 €. No taste no value for money. I don't advice to order pancakes here. They don't provide good service.

Service: terrible as previously commented by some other customer in this review.
My boyfriend and I started to doubt if this cafe/bakery is discriminated against foreigners with the way they treated the guests who obviously non-local even though we speak some German.

Even with 2 tables in the not busy period, a senior lady yelled at us and give us an attitude that we should wait after we were politely asking if she could take order. That was after we have been waiting for 40 mins.

We tried to understand that this is how they do service in Germany, but we have experienced better and equally worse. The senior waitresses do not seem to enjoy their job and capable of taking more than one task at a time..ohh and definitely not having an attitude in welcoming “non-German” customers!!!!

However, You can be lucky. We sometimes were served by young ladies who served us and speak to us politely and eager to help us out with orders but it seems to be a rare luck, a customer could have with this place.

Food: average to low quality
Eggs dishes are quite oily
Cakes and bread are good i.e mohnkuchen, gipfelspitze, etc.
Pancake dishes are not recommended as we ordered and always came not fresh but rather heated and a bit burned.
Coffee is not recommended but the tea is usually nice especially the one with flower.

Environment: average
During brunch time, It is super crowded and of course, service is even below the worst you can imagine. The whole place can be covered with fried/oil smell from eggs dishes but other than that it is a cosy place. If you want to be in private, then it's a place for you especially if you are a foreigner because not even a waiter will attend the service to you.

A couple days ago I did the queue to order breakfast, they told me it was no possible to take the order in the Kasse and that they would go to my table, but they left me waiting there too long, so I left.

Today I tried again but they didn’t go to the table but instead told me I should do the queue to order. Disappointing and confusing...

There are so many little cafes in Bahnstadt now, but Laib u0026 Leben is one of the nicer ones. Coffee, tea, cake and food all good. Nice furniture and ambience.

My new favourite place. The breakfast sandwich I ordered was amazing and the raspberry filled berliners are my new favourite treat.
