A beautiful tower with stellar views of Heidelberg. There is an exterior staircase leading up to the interior staircase, which had sturdy stone steps, a metal railing, and slightly dim light at times. The top of the tower is open but has a railing encircling the entire stairwell in the middle, and you're able to walk all the way around the top enjoying the view. There are high walls that gave me no anxiety having my three kids ages 6, 4, and 2 years with me, other than the potential for falling down the stairs. I wore the toddler but the other two were able to climb up without difficult and only minimal complaining. While the tower is free, make sure you check opening hours before coming if this is on your bucket list.
