Nice small and fast visit.
You may like the 75m top view (very small place up there behind bars and don’t expect a full outside walk around) u003d full price 5€ / under 17 kids 3€
Nice underground museum.

Recommandation : overall yes for the view and the historical part (sightseeing from what still stand for the 5th highest religious building)

A giant of a building, very beautiful and the architechture! I'm not a religious man, but you can't help be amazed by this building.
And just when you think you've seen it all, you go out to a gården in the back and from there you'll be amazed again - would love to explore the many halls and rooms this cathedral must hold.

The museum tells the story of three horrific events of the Second World War; the bombing raid on Coventry by the Luftwaffe, the allied raids on Hamburg and the destruction of Warsaw at the start of the war. Some of the photos and commentary are quite graphic, but incredibly moving. Currently, there are some large photographs of the war in Ukraine in the carcass of the cathedral. The ride in the elevator to the top of the tower was fun, but the view was marred by the many iron railings and bars and was not worth the admission price (much better views can be had from the Elbphilarmonie building, which has free entry).

Very interesting historical place to visit. High tower is almost 800 m high, which might be a bit scary.
Its museum has a small documentary about Hamburg's firestorm during WW2. Though it felt a bit nationalist documentary, the outcome of war is undeniable for sure.

Church tower of great historical importance with interesting architecture and historical facts you can read about on-site and on-line. Stunning gargoyles. The view from the top is not as nice as form St Michael's tower, though... Nevertheless, definitely worth the visit!

Visited for the top panaromic view of hamburg. But presence of metallic grills disappointed (so you can't take panaromic view easily). However, museum downstairs is good.

Looking at the ruins is free and in itself interesting. For 5 EUR you also get to go up the tower with a beautiful view over Hamburg. The same ticket also gives you access to the museum under the church ruins which can definitely be recommended as well. Everything down there is written in both German and English. The museum tells the story of the church as well as the bombing of Hamburg and Warsaw. Parts of the exhibition was rather brutal as it may be expected, this is worth remembering if you are sensitive to descriptions of violence and death.
