Very busy when we went late on a Sunday evening. The queue moved fairly quickly: they are good at turning over tables it seems / efficient. I noticed/suspected different types of shirts on the waiters meant different jobs: taking orders/delivering food/clearing tables. I regret ordering the burger as it was fairly average and the salads looked better. I liked my drink. Price was very reasonable and the view if seated at the right part of the restaurant was fantastic.

very popular all day dining venue by the lake with a very wide array of choice. Popular with both locals and visitors alike, make sure you book it you want a window side view of the lake.

Service is very good and the waiters polite even though they are clearly constantly busy.

Food quality is quite average, you're here for the location, the view of the lake and choice of dishes.

Well recommended if you're in the area and can get a lake side view.

VERY nice brunch!! Sunday until 2PM. There is a well stocked buffet. We were there in May with a chill in the air and rain but sitting outside was comfortable thanks to tons of open air heaters. We could people watch to our hearts content. Highly recommend

We visited late Sunday evening, and we got a table facing the water which was beautiful. But the table was not clean and after repetitive requests to the waiteress did she clean it but not very nicely. She kept on insisting that we are about to close and so no cleaning would be done and we may change the table.

But apart from the slightly rude service, the food was good and the view was amazing. I will visit Alex again when I am in Hamburg for the ambiance and food.

Good continental breakfast buffet to choose from, but the coffee is not that good. You have a nice view over the Alster from the terrace and if you’re lucky the sun shines too. The scrambled eggs were especially good.

I love this place so much. First of all the view over the water is so so beautiful. The staff is always friendly and don't mind a difficult order from a difficult eater like myself. The food is very nice and for a reasonable price! I have/would and will eat here again:)

Loved the place, good food, really great service and amazing hostess! The location is perfect for evening snack or drinks!
