Avoid! The first sign of trouble was when there was no one at the front desk, but rather a note to check in at a hotel next door. We went to the other hotel only to find out they had given away our room. There were no options available for us anymore. We have shown up a day late due to travel issues, but had called the moment we could, the day before our original reservation even, and agreed to pay for our entire stay including the missed day. We were assured many times that our booking was safe, especially since we were going to pay for all the nights. After waiting for a manager who clearly was never coming, I told the person manning the desk that we would just cancel. His response: "Oh good!". We ultimately ended up booking at the Residence Inn in Old Frankfort. Much better location, much more comfortable, and the front desk was willing to work with us even with no notice. Now I need to put a notice in with my credit card company to make sure that hotel excelsior doesn't still charge us for the room that they never were able to give us to begin with.

The hotel is exactly opp the frankfurt main station so it is a very convenient location for transport connectivity and food outlets nearby. The rooms are small but it is ok for a solo business traveler. The breakfast buffet is decent.

Customer service is outstanding.
but the room is bit older compare with uploaded picture.
there's a free snackbar in a room and very closed to the train station.

My room was tiny and it looked like it haven’t been renovated for YEARS; furniture and walls looked just like my grandma’s old stuff. It didn’t really bother me, as I only stayed for 1 night.

But what really bothered me was the absence of AC! Come on, it’s August, it’s 40C outside! I guess, that the free mini-bar and free refreshments (the cake was very good, by the way) in the lobby are supposed to make guests less angry.

Stuff was not really friendly, but I guess it’s simply because it’s Germany.

I stayed at different hotel before (it is located really close to this one). I payed for stay almost same amount, but everything was incomparably better. I recommend to book different hotel, as there are a lot of much better options.

The location is great, but again, there are better places at the very same spot.

No air-conditioning was the only drawback for me and it was blazing hot in the summer. The place is very ideally positioned, just a mere 1 minute walk to the central station entrance. They provide free mini bars in every room and free water/tea/light snack in the lobby which is a really nice touch that you rarely see even in major hotel companies.

Nice hotel in a central location with really helpful staff. The room was clean pleasant. There's no air conditioning and the view into the courtyard is just other windows.
You can reach pretty much everything in town from here and you are safely away from the seedier locations around the station.
I found it to be good value and would stay there again.

A pretty nice hotel with a perfect location, just opposite the main station. Totally worth the price with its free mini-bar, free coffee/tea in the rooms and breakfast. There are only several cons: the bathroom is extremely small, so each time it was full of water after showering; there were small cockroaches in the bathroom; the staff u0026 the elevator are pretty slow taking into account the huge number of tourists coming to check-in and out. If you are not a big fan of the free coffee/tea and the kettle in the room, I would recommend the hotel Monopol, which is just next to this one; it also has a free mini-bar, but the rooms look one idea newer, with a descent bathroom and without cockroaches :)
