Wonderful, authentic German brewery restaurant. I went for an early Saturday dinner to avoid the crowds. Lots of young people at the outside front tables, but there were plenty of open tables inside. An older festival group occupied the nice outside patio in back. Start with your first of many Alt beers. They will keep bringing them, and mark your coaster. The pork schnitzel topped with egg and with potatoes was amazing. The waiter spoke English, provided an English menu, and was patient and clear explaining the Schnitzel special page that was only in German. Waiters were attentive and proactive in bringing the next beer. So lucky to have been staying near this place!

Completely blown away with the quality of food and beer. Had the pork knuckle with mashed potatoes and sauer kraut, potato pancakes and raw pork with onion on rye bread. Had several Altbiers. Service was amazing.

Excellent food in an authentic atmosphere. We had a veal schnitzel and the daily special which were both exquisite. Turns out this is also the oldest Brauerei in Düsseldorf. Can only recommend if you are looking for a typical German dish.

Spend a lovely afternoon with friends at Schumacher. Nice service, typical German food and very good beer. The backyard is spacious and welcoming.

Many years ago I had eaten very delicious crispy pork knuckle in this restaurant. Today I just tried again this same dish. The pork skin was absolutely not crispy, chewy actually. Some outer part of the pork meat was also dry and hard. Exactly same problem with 2 other people ordering the same dish. Very disappointed with the tremendous drop in quality.

The food and bier here are excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food selection is traditional German food and there is a good variety. They serve traditional Alt bier right from the keg. This is a must stop spot.
