Really enjoyed my stay even though it was for only one night.

Arrived in the morning before you are supposed to check-in but was lucky that a bed was already empty and that I could use my locker immediately and make up my bed with the included bedlinnen.

Was able to refresh myself under a sweet rain shower. Only complaint was that other guests came in at 3am and it seemed like they still had to settle/unpack.

Definitely would visit again.

I had the worst hostel experience in my life here. Knowing this hostel is a mix dorm only, I left a booking comment that hoped them to arrange me into a comparably quiet room with more female insides.
It turns out every thing was completely the opposite of what I wish, literally so contrary that I wonder whether they did this arrangement to mock my request - I got a basement room with only one other girl and got assigned a bed right next to the window where people walking and car driving right next to your ears. The air was so bad and one guy coughed so badly that I thought all of us gonna catch Covid. I barely slept the whole night and have to started my internship directly at day time.
The other girl in this dorm felt uncomfortable as well and both of us decided to flee and checkout early even we booked for two more nights. I was being nice and let them know I left early and hoped they could be kind as well to understand my difficulties and at least refund me the money from the last night. What they did is they resell my bed and got double money from my bed:) At the same time I had to book super expensive last minute train to go home with almost no sleep and worked the whole day.
The staff at the reception seems nice but he promised me to talk to the owner about switching bed or refund, however I did not hear back anything ever since.
I understand it is really kind and not easy to offer affordable accommodation in a expensive city like Düsseldorf, but I think running it with more sympathy and respect to travelers is important as well. At the end of the day, it is not a charity or shelter, but a business for profits.

A very good and friendly place to live. International tourists and students friendly.
The owner is very friendly and speaks English.
I stayed here for a night in the 4 bed dorm.
The locker area is big enough to keep a full size suitcase.

The entrance is secured with the electronic lock, so, only those can enter who knows the password of the lock.

Also, free breakfast and a maintained kitchen to cook for lunch and dinner.

Highly recommended.

This was my first time to try a hostel (for the previous 20 years of traveling I preferred classic hotels). I would say this is a good place to start from!

Direct booking is available. It's possible to choose a room with 6, 4, 2 beds. Big lockers are available in each room, but the guests should bring their own padlocks. Showers and toilets are shared for each floor. Bed sheets and a towel are available for a small extra charge. No hidden costs, transparent price policy.

The space is small, but very practical and nicely designed. I even found a desk to work on. Be aware that there are lots of stairs and I saw no elevator. The navigation inside the hostel felt very simple because there were signs in English. I never asked "Where is…?"

The guest kitchen is a little small, but there are a coffee pot and a microwave oven. The breakfast was included and had a normal variety.

The only problem for me was that the staff is available only in the mornings. In other time, all the communication had to be made via E-mail. On the other hand, when the staff was present, they were very attentive and helpful to all my "newbie questions".

Reservation 7293894369149.

Very hostell-y experience

What I liked about the hostel is that:
- It gives the classic hostel vibes, with a lot of traveling people and their stories;
- It's very central and one can basically walk everywhere in Düsseldorf from there;
- Price is very low, considering Düsseldorf is one of the most expensive cities of the Ruhr Gebiet;
- They left a cookie for me on my bed with my name to be found ????

BUT
- Breakfast is a bit poor, but well, it's okay for the price range;
- One has to pay the bed sheets, and maybe was not super clear on the hostel page.
All in all however, more pros than cons

Cosy and clean hostel. Offers free breakfast, so that's a win. The owner is superfriendly and the vibe in general was chill.
Slept in a 6-bed dorm which was spacious enough and close to the showers.
Location was great since there aren't many places for backpackers in Düsseldorf. 15 minutes by foot to the Altstadt (Old Town) or to the river. Public transport on almost every corner of the street.
Overall I had a really nice stay!

Patrick is terribly rude, and you could understand it from the answers he has written to the others bad comments he has received, too.
Patrick is used to enter in the rooms without even knock, even if he is the owner is inappropriate and rude.
The atmosphere is not really friendly.
Just one bathroom and just two showers in all the floor is unacceptable, come on we were more than 10 people to use just two showers and ONE bathroom!!!
And the bathroom's floor was dirty of poo!!
Moreover, you can't lock your luggages!!
The only positive point is that the beds are comfortable, but I really don't recommend to you this place.
