The hotel's only redeeming factors are its location and the friendly staff.
They also say that have free WiFi... which is technically correct. The problem is, the WiFi won't connect anywhere outside the hotel lobby.
Sure, the building is old - but it's not only old, it's also in dire need of refurbishment.
The first room we were given the keys to was tiny and very sparsely furnished. As I was tired from the journey I went to take a shower.
The showerhead had to be held in hand the entire time as the mounting was broken. The water wouldn't drain, and the drain cover would happily float away. The complimentary towels had holes...
Fortunately the friendly staff did what they could to offer us a different room.
The second room was... a bit better. Well, less bad. It had the same size as the first one. The furniture looked like it was taken from someone else's bulk rubbish, the bathroom light switch fell off the wall at the first touch, I found disassembled smoke alarms in the cupboard drawer, the shower doors were hanging by a thread, the probably sixty year old window didn't block out any noise from outside whatsoever, and the curtain didn't block out the slightest bit of sunlight - It was basically impossible for me to sleep. The soundscape would have been the same if I had just pitched a tent on the roof.
