I stayed at the Munte for 3 days on a business trip in early August. The hotel is in an ideal location if your main focus is the university which is just a short pleasant walk away. It's a bit far from the centre of town but very well connected: there are several buses and a nearby tram goes every 10 minutes to the train station and can take you on to the airport for only 2.40 euros which is 10 times less than the cost of a taxi.
The Munte is a modern, nice looking, comfortable hotel and I was happy there. All in all, I recommend it as excellent value for money. That said, I travel a lot and tend to be fussy - I noted the the following good and bad points for myself in view of a likely return stay in the near future:
Good:
nice looking premises, very clean, location close to the university, very efficient and polite staff, excellent breakfast, super Italian restaurant on ground floor, free fast wifi.
Less Good:
poor bathroom mirror lighting, no timepiece in room, some non-German sat TV channels flickered and crackled impossibly, no English language newspapers at breakfast, shower sometimes unexpectedly turned cold albeit very briefly.
Note that some larger rooms on higher floors do not have air conditioning but rather have big windows with lovely views but on the street side which can be quite noisy if left open. Since I needed to be fresh for work, I accepted the ready offer to change to a less attractive room view-wise on the first floor. It was smaller but equally comfortable and had good ac. Above all, it was dead silent.
