I had a great experience giving birth a Vivantes Friedrishchain. The team was very welcoming at the registration visit and I had a mid-wife and a student mid-wife to attend to my birth. At least one of them was by my side the whole time and provided advices specific to my situation and coach me greatly for the birth of my first child.I felt in good hand and well taken care of. My stay after the birth was also pleasant and a nurse or mid-wife was touring the room every 3 hours to check on the mums and the babies, particularly making sure everything was going well with the breas-feeding. They deserve their "baby friendly" label.

As today is International Midwife Day, I wanted to send the biggest thank you to the two shifts of midwives who helped me give birth at the beginning of April: Lucie and Lisa until 22:00 then Anne and Lisa until the birth. The four of them were absolutely incredible, kind, patient and encouraging. I admire the work you do and thanks to you, I had the birth I imagined for my daughter and I always felt in good hands.

To the midwives students: Lisa and Lisa, you are both amazing and you are going to be great midwives!! I wish you the best for your exams at the end of this year :).

For anyone who wants to know (I know I was looking for it in the reviews): I did not speak great German but the midwives spoke perfect English with my husband and I. After 16hours of labor they proposed me an epidural which I gladly accepted (and the anesthetist was extremely nice and professional, even making some jokes and checking back on me from time to time). The kreissal is really nice and soothing and they do everything to ensure you have the best natural / physiological birth (positions to move the baby down, meditation, etc). I had an intervention of a gynecologist in the end, which was not the best experience (I said I did not want a Kristeller-handgriff but it still happened) but overall I loved the birth process with Vivantes Fshain geburt klinik :).

However, be ready for the maternity ward, the staff was not nice and overworked. They say "I bring you X" but they never did. They are guilt-tripping the mothers who have issues breastfeeding...and the food is pretty terrible (but thats in all hospitals I guess). Consider going home ASAP if you have a great Hebamme support.

I was registered to give birth to another hospital. I ended up giving birth here because it was near my house and I am so happy that it happened like this. I had an emergency c-section. All the doctors where caring and friendly. My son had to stay for a week in the neonatal clinic and then some days more to the hospital. I am really greatfull for the doctors that treated us.. Both kreißaal and neonatal clinic have amazing medical personal. I definitely suggest to give birth here.

I couldn’t ask for a better outpatient birth experience. The staff were friendly and professional. The birthing rooms were spacious with a private bathroom. The equipment was also noteworthy. They had a wireless CTG - the only one I’ve seen in Berlin. The oversized birthing bed was super helpful. The food was also pretty good. Thanks to the midwives for taking such good care of my growing family!

I gave birth in September 2020 and had a very good experience in this hospital. The staff is very nice and friendly and made me feel cared for.
The birth process lasted quite long for me but luckily no one rushed me and I ended up occupying the Kreißsaal for 12 hours!
Midwife Valentina followed me for the whole duration of her shift and really supported me in giving birth to my son vaginally, I'm glad she was there with me.
The hospital is in Volkspark F'shain, which is great for walking during contractions.

if i could give minus 5 stars i would. Simply run, I have trauma from the birth of my first child. The whole time we were quiet as we were sincerely worried that any discussion would trigger even worse behaviour. We went through hell.

PROS: The staff is was efficient. I was checked in and treated for an allergic reaction right away. The staff was gentle and kind. I was given medication to treat the reaction. You don't have to fill out any forms. The staff asks the right questions and treats you accordingly.

CONS: I would have appreciated more communication from the staff so I understand what is going on. Also, The wait time to see the doctor for a final diagnosis is quite long; After 5.5 hours, I asked the nurse if I could just leave. She asked the doctor, and he came by with a form for me to sign because I wanted to leave early. He said it would take 24 hours to see a dermatologist there, but I could also schedule an appointment with another dermatologist outside of the hospital if that would be easier, which is what I opted for.

Overall, good experience. I feel much better and that is what ultimately counts.
