Great service, staff, price and location. Maintenance could be improved a bit but nothing major. Will be back.

You see beautiful pictures and not a cheap price. For that, you expect something, at least, as you see on the photos.

But the standards are completely destroyed.

Small rooms with bad interior inside. The floor is almost destroyed. The bathroom is smaller than 2 meters in a long. And less than a 1m in a wide.

I have told the staff, that it is not good to lie to people and completely ruin their expectations, After 30 minutes of the discussion agreed to give at 40€ difference and change towels(that like from prison, in the beginning).

Or they said, they can check out(on the last day, in Berlin — it was a blackmail).

Stay at this hotel only if you don't have a choice. In other case, you can always find a better hotel in Eastern Berlin to stay.

Nice little place. We had the double room on the street so a little noisy but otherwise OK. Comfy, warm, decent shower. Very close to the U-Bahn so really easy to get around.

Lots of places to eat near the hotel.

Maybe offer more pillows u0026 a double duvet for 2 people instead of 2 single ones.

I was booked in to a single room, which was small but very cosy and homely. The quality of sleep which I got over 5 days was second to none - very comfortable bed. I love German TV and there were loads of channels available on the television in my room. My little bathroom had everything which I could possibly need - a great shower with super water pressure - lovely! I was worried about slipping in the shower, as I am disabled, but I just put the little bath mat onto the floor of the shower and - problem sorted! The free coffee in the lobby is great and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only negative? I have to say that the standard of housekeeping has declined a little, but when I requested new towels, these were provided immediately. The whole place was very clean anyway, so daily cleaning was not really necessary. Back in 2015 however, all towels were changed daily. This small complaint will most DEFINITELY NOT stop me from returning to 1a Apartment in the future! The location of the guest house is fantastic, just next to the famous Schönhauser Allee, which is packed full of great restaurants and cafes, quirky shops and all the transport links you could possibly want. Don't forget to explore the unique bars and museums in the area also. Travel down the side streets and discover wonderful places to have the best breakfasts you have ever seen - do eat at Gestern Heute Morgen (Yesterday Today Tomorrow) which you will no doubt find with a quick internet search. It's on Gaudystraße and is a 2 minute walk from this guest house. Berlin is my favourite place to be in the whole world - and I will always stay at 1a Apartment, because it just has that special something. It's no frills, but I always felt so happy, safe and relaxed in my accommodation and yes - I just love the place! Be back soon!

Lovely room and friendly staff in Prenzlaurberg. Big comfortable bed and armchairs. Shower is maybe a bit awkward but functional.
Great communications, with S-Bahn, U-Bahn and Tram around the apartments. There's a 10 minute walk to Mauerpark, which is also very nice.
You simply cannot get a better quality for this budget anywhere else.

A nice apartment in Prenzlauer berg. Good situation, not so far away to U2 metro station, and not so far away to Mauerpark, and easy to get S bahn to airport. We sleep well here ! ^^
