I joined FitX East Side in March this year as it was closer to my apartment than the Mcfit I was using. The mcFit was great but just a little far for me.

I have to say I'm very unhappy with FitX. The main reason is the gym is just totally overcrowded and at times it's impossible to use any of the equipment or plan any kind of routine, you just have to take whatever equipment is free.

The free weight/heavy room occupies the smallest section of the gym yet is the most used area and it's almost always at any time of the day overcrowded and not a nice place to be. In fact the only time it's not overcrowded is between midnight and 6am.

Since joining FitX I'm finding that I'm actually going to the gym much less because the gym is just unusable. Also, it's annoying to see that when I do go there there, they are still signing up new customers. I'm avoiding going to the gym during the day thinking I'll just go after midnight when it's not overcrowded but more often than not when midnight comes around it's hard to force yourself to leave the house.

And yes I've read the comments about FitX opening new gyms in Berlin but how is this going to help me right now? I'm paying for a 2 year membership at a gym that does not provide me with the services that I expect it to. FitX, please stop signing up new members and provide the services to your existing members that they are paying for. If this is not possible, please cancel my contract and refund me.

Only two squat racks, frequent 10-15 minute wait for them. At least 5 broken lockers at all times, and overcrowded frequently enough for that to be a problem. And MOST IMPORTANTLY I have reported equipment that was broken in a potentially very dangerous way, and they don’t put up a sign preventing future users or fix it speedily. Specifically, one of the bench racks had a piece loose because of a missing screw that could catch a bar reracking and cause it to be dropped or shoulder injury.

Could be a great gym if the number of different machines better matched the demand for them (i.e. more Squat racks instead of the totally unused “machine circuit” area), the equipment was better maintained, and ,again most importantly, THE STAFF WAS TRAINED TO RESPOND SERIOUSLY AND IMMEDIATELY TO SAFETY HAZARDS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.

Edit: So when you said that it's more crowded in the beginning of the year that was just a lie huh

I joined FitX 6 years ago and I’m generally happy with the studios. However, recently the morning courses get canceled a lot in the East Side Mall studio, due to staff shortage. Today we were 10 people waiting in the course room for the trainer. No one in the studio notified us that there won’t be a class today. The person at the desk wasn’t helpful at all and seemed quite bored by the job. I understand that staff shortage is a problem. I just wish they would send an update of canceled classes on the website or app. So one could check for schedule changes like an hour before class. It’s quite disappointing to go to the studio just to see that the course got canceled. I’m honestly just going there because of the course program, like a lot of women do. Alternatively they could also turn on a training video, especially if it’s so hard to staff the morning classes.

Despite the course situation, the East Side Mall studio gets overcrowded a lot recently. The ventilation is low, the windows can’t be opened and air quality is poor, which doesn’t feel very comfortable with the next C19 wave ahead.

Horribly crowded at all times, even at 7AM.
Machines are often broken and take 2-4 months to fix which disrupts training routines. Don't sign up for this if you appreciate having a regular training program because you won't be able to execute it without being disrupted.

Moreover, there's no airconditioning and the gym can get extremely hot which makes it quite a health hazard in terms of working out.

Hard pass. Look for another gym.

Free weights zone is constantly overcrowded, it is impossible to use any kind of equipment.
In general gym is in a pretty horrible state.
Before buying the yearly membership think twice and maybe get the guest entrances otherwise it would be a huge waist of money

I can't think of anything they don't have here.
Actually there is no sauna. But who cares.
Great gym and is the reason I feel good before work most mornings.

The studio is highly recommendable. It is spacious, well cared for and provides the latest professional equipment. The trainers are experienced and always ready to help. Entrance and exit are also very easy, even at night. Atmosphere and music are in tune. The annual price is worth what you get. | @s1997co
