Food: pretty good.

Customer service: bad. Cashier guy always gruff and grumpy. They had a giant poster of iced coffee and I saw a wifi network pop up with the restaurant name on it. So, I asked for an iced coffee and the wifi password. His response: "I have no iced coffee. And no wifi password. It's not public." Well then.. okay!

Breakfast had a coffee/espresso bar, breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches and omelettes. Outdoor seating and a bookshelf full of novels to borrow.

Great breakfast and hilarious service. Understatement to say great breakfast because if you like what's on the menu it is well prepared and if you have a problem with what you ordered they will remake it for you. Good atmosphere and very spacious. Wings are every other Thursday and the other Thursday is ribs. Go get your lunch on at the German Kantine.

Euros and USD (no debit/credit cards). A bit expensive for most dishes, and quality of the meat is low. *Edit 2021 - Price has jumped high, and quality of food is now terrible.

This is an okay option for breakfast and lunch. However, changes in cook staff can result in inconsistencies in how food is prepared (e.g. taste). Additionally, pastries provided are purchased from external bakeries. If you purchase pastries on German holidays they will often be two-days old.

Excellent service, delicious food, very fair price! What a wonderful place with a friendly atmosphere and a comfortable outside eating area. Highly recommend!

Easily the best military cafeteria I've ever been too. Food is great with a big selection. Easy to get food quickly too.

Historical Information: This building was built as an Army Mess Hall and was used as such when Kelley Barracks was the HQ of VII Corps until the end of the Cold War. This was my Dining facility when I was stationed at VII Corps in the 1980s.
At that time the Deutsche Kantine was over by the branch PX and Bank up Oak Street.
