Lebkuchen (gingerbread) stores and cafes are a MUST in Nürnberg. I really like this one specially. Besides a a big variety of gingerbread options all year long, you can get a nice cup of coffee or a nice chai latte. They have as well sometimes cake or strudel in case you don’t feel like gingerbread day. The place has a nice space inside with a traditional oven and beautiful atmosphere and if the weather is nice you can sit outside and have a nice view of one of the town squares and view to the castle.

My favourite thing I ate during the whole trip, go to Wicklein - Die Lebküchnerei for some beautiful lebkuchen to eat in. There was chocolate coated and plain (the plain was warm!). It was delicious (although I found the hot chocolate a little plain). I wish I had bought some to take home!

There are many places to try the famous speciality food from Nuremburg called lebkuchen. Our favourites came from Wicklein - Die Lebkuechnerei which occupies a 15th-century building at Hauptmarkt in the city centre. Here you can buy large freshly-baked lebkuchen cookies as well as bags and tins of these delicious cookies. Opening hours are 10am to 7pm daily (closed on Sundays).

We really enjoyed the big cookies sold from the counter as soon as you enter the Wicklein shop. You can buy original plain lebkuchen or those topped with chocolate and sprinkled with various other ingredients. Texture is very soft and flavour is really nice, a good blend of honey, ginger and nuts. They make for a great snacks to enjoy while browsing the Christmas markets and delightful streets of Nuremburg.

We purchased 5 of the Wicklein gingerbread cookies and returned to Hong Kong and have been really enjoying them since. Sadly, they will be finished soon.

I was always asking myself why Lebkuchen are so expensive, compared to the one in the supermarket. We'll, it's has all to do with the ingredients, where nuts are rather expensive compared to weat and they are made by hand. Still I think €4,45 for a cookie is a lot, the taste is amazing and worth trying. With the chocolate on top, it makes it a very yummy cookie.

Very rude. I did not order because felt awfully treated before I could even order.

Bad service, overrated and overpriced. Save your time and don’t go there

Here I had the best gingerbread in my life! They even make it fresh in the shop and they pack it very nice if you take it as a gift. Really amazing good! It costs about 5 euros a fresh made one but it's big and it tastes incredible!
