a very relaxing place where mushrooms made of stone are built in an artificial pool with many stones places to sit under the trees just in front Frauenkirche.
very pleasant place to bring your children where they can play on the mushrooms and feel the cool water.
Just next to this place a bronze map of the Munich center very well designed.

The Wasserpilz Brunnen is a cute and creatively designed fountain located on the forecourt of the Frauenkirche. The whole structure looks a little like a mini amphitheatre with the seating formed of around the central fountain containing mushroom sculptures providing the outlet for the water.

A cool place to sit and watch the world go by.

The Water Mushroom Fountain (Wasserpilz Brunnen) is one of the more creative and enjoyable fountain structures around the Old City of Munich. It is situated just in front of the historic Frauenkirche along Augustinerstrasse.

What you find here is a circular impression into the ground at small platz in front of the church. The impression is lined with various shaped stone slabs which create a great number of sitting places for those seeking a rest here. Amongst the stone slabs there are two water spouts gushing out water which streams down to a fountain pool at the bottom of the impression.

In the pool, there are numerous mushroom shaped sculptures for which the fountain takes its name. The mushrooms have tiny spouts adding more water to the pool. Note, the fountain is also surrounded by tall trees, providing much shade for visitors during summer months.

In the end, I really like Wasserpilz Brunnen. It is a creative design, child-friendly and quite interesting to see and experience. Have a look-see before or after your visit to Frauenkirche.

This place is very interesting and beautiful in its own way. My wife and I got here accidentally when we looked at a nearby church. This is a kind of stone amphitheater in the center of which, instead of a stage, there is a small pond dotted with small fountain mushrooms. When we came here, a lot of people were sitting here and they watched the children jump and play on these mushrooms. This place is very well covered with trees from the sun and the wind, and is surrounded by buildings, so that a feeling of some isolation from the rest of the World is created. A place where you can come to relax, think, enjoy the view of the fountains.

Great little park by the Frauenkirche. There were lots of people, but it still managed to be peaceful. My daughter enjoyed the break and dipped her feet in the water, and the water cascading down the stones makes for a relaxing place to sit.

Great place to cool down on a hot day...also right next to Augustiner for food/drinks

Great enviroment, gentle stuff. Food was delicious , reasonably priced. Decoration a plus . Service was fast and able to explain every dish in proper english
