The Sitting boar sculpture is a popular sculpture that sits just outside the German Hunting and Fishing Museum on Neuhauser Strasse. It's another one of those bronze statues that locals and tourists like to rub supposedly for good luck. The "good luck" spot on this sculpture is the snout as evidenced by the shiny snout compared to the rest of the statue.

As the German name of the sculpture suggests, it's a sculpture of a wild boar and it's depicted in a sitting position. Nuff said.

Beautiful city center. Plenty of building and sites all around. Great shopping, be prepared to walk a lot. Make sure you grab a pretzel while down in city center.

An interesting thing to see along Neuhauser Straße is the bronze figure of a sitting boar in front of the German Hunting and Fishing Museum (Deutsches Jagd und Fischereimuseum).

This is a copy of the famous sitting boar (Porcellino) in Florence. Like what you find with bronze boar at Mercato Nuovo in Florence, visitors here, as evidenced by the very shiny shout, do seem to give the Sitting Boar a good rub in hopes for good luck.

Note, there is also a large sculpture of a catfish on the other side of the museum entrance. Give the boar and catfish a quick look-see while passing by on Neuhauser Straße. That is good enough.
