Lots of interesting and fun taxidermy, with a lot of history behind fishing and hunting. If you are an international traveler, there are only a few displays with non-Deutsch placards and writings, and the interactive elements in the first portion, while they show English options, only work if you select Deutsch as the language. Still well worth the visit, and using the Google translate app works well enough

German hunting and fishing museum is the greatest fun next to Frauenkirche.
????
Real catch!
????
The modern museum is full of Multimedia and
Interactive displays where the kids can watch and learn. The card to activate the displays is given at the cashier.
????
Inside all kinds of animals and fish. ????

A random find in the old city. The first level is a bit under whelming so I almost left without going up but it is worth it. All the exhibits descriptions are in German only.

Surprisingly enjoyable. Our two boys ages 4 and 6 absolutely loved this museum even though 2 sections were closed off. The exhibits are well laid out and interactive. I'm not really into fishing or hunting but it was pretty fun. It's a perfect 1.5 hours to duck into from Viktualienmarkt.

So little info in English? In every big city in Europe that is also making big bucks out of tourism and respects their guests, the museums have the decency to display info in both the national language and English for all info cards and interactive media. Shameful...

If you are in the area, and enjoy the outdoors like I do, you have got to check this place out. For a small fee you can check out some very interesting exhibits detailing the history of hunting in Germany and Europe. Very cool to see all the antler mounts, artwork, and especially the beautiful weapons. There are also some fishing exhibits, areas that would appeal to kids and important exhibits about conservation. Please visit and support this place!
