a stone memorial dedicating to the fallen soldiers from Bavaria in WWI you get to it from Hofgarten and you take stairs and enter what would be a tomb of a lying soldier holding his weapon. very impressive and in front of the Bavarian counselor building.

Nice .. clean and beautiful..! Bayerische Staatskanzlei is also the name of the building in Munich that houses the personal offices of the chancellery staff. It was erected from 1989 to 1993 around the central dome of the former Bavarian Army Museum, which had been built in 1905 at the site of the Hofgartenkaserne barracks and was demolished in World War II. The museum then was moved to the New Castle in Ingolstadt.

Very near to Hofgarten - this memorial was built on behalf those who were killed in World War I. I wouldn’t list as mandatory or to give priority in your “tourist list” for Munchen.

Located in Hofgarten and just in from of the Bavarian State Chancellery is this memorial, commemorating those from Munich and killed in action in the First World War. The memorial takes the form of a sunken rectangular pit. Inside is a sculpture of a sleeping soldier lying on a slab of red granite. The soldier has such a peaceful expression on his face and is a poignant reminder of those who fall in battle.

This war memorial is for remembrance of the fallen of World War 1, like the "grave of the unknown soldier". It's a well-designed and well-kept monument right next to Hofgarten.

Located in Hofgarten Area which is one of the most interesting places and the most appropriate for strolling, learning history and admiring the beauty of its nature in the midst of city.

Beautiful building in the background of a pretty and relaxing garden in the middle of Munich. Gorgeous place to visit which also contains a war memorial.
