I stayed at the Flag for just over a week recently.

First the good points!
- the beds are comfortable
- the gym is small but a good addition and fine for business trips
- SOME of the staff are friendly and helpful

What I didn’t enjoy as much…
- I sleep with earplugs so it was fine for me, but if you are facing the street there is some sort of loading company which works VERY early hours and can be heard
- if you are used to blackout blinds (which honestly I believe should be standard in any hotel), then your night will end with the sunrise, especially if you are on the side which the sun rises - which I was. I had attached a picture below of how bright it was one morning. The electric blinds are made of a soft material rather than metal, and the sun can blast right through them. Although you can see a shadow at the top of this picture, that is from the balcony above and I can assure you that the blinds were down in the picture (believe it or not!!)
- there is one staff member in particular who, after reading some more reviews, I am shocked she still has a job. When I explained my situation with the bright mornings, she was incredibly rude, was short of rolling her eyes at me, and even walked off mid-conversation. From some other reviews here I can say with certainty that it is the same women (slim, blonde hair). She made me feel totally uncomfortable and like I was asking far too much. Other staff members tried to tell me that I did not even have the blinds down when I showed them the picture which is simply not the case. As someone who is sensitive to light at night, I can assure you that the blinds were down. They simply are not effective for sunny mornings where the sun rises directly where the room faces. I was made feel embarrassed and stupid after that interaction.
- I have given 3 rather than 2 stars because the housekeeping were kind enough to give me some white sheets to drape over the windows which made some difference.

Very nice hotel, modern, clean. Friendly staff always available. Very affordable for Munich. I’ve stayed there twice for 3 weeks for professional obligations. It really felt like home. The rooms have a nice bathroom, kitchenette with everything you need and lots of storage. Some rooms have a balcony or a terrasse. The area is pretty quiet (lots of companies around). There is a lovely bakery downstairs for a nice German breakfast. Also you have one of Munich’s largest shopping Center just a 10 minute walk away. I need to go back to Munich next month and will stay at the flag without hesitation. Also, you can be in Marienplatz in 20 minute in metro. 100% recommended.

I never had such a dreadful experience in any hotel I stayed in all my life. I always felt not welcomed, even though I paid a lot to stay there. For all 3 months I stayed here I had many problems and always had bad communication with the front desk. There was a lady especially that was really rude. My impression is that they have too many people staying there and the staff can't handle everyone. They asked me for more money after I already paid in advance for the stay and it happened two times! And both times I was threated bad by the frontdesk like it was my fault they made miscalculation. Everything was solved when I left but I can't say it was a pleasant 3 months. I would suggest people to stay away unless they have to stay for just few days. I also had problems with cleaning not coming every week like they promised.
Definitely not worth it for long stays.

The reason why I am giving 3 starts is only for their facility which is good. No issues in it. But, reception staffs behavior is very bad. If you are an outsider, then you will not be treated equally. They will talk as if we are staying there for free. I stayed there for a month and always avoided them as much as possible. If the whole reception staffs are replaced then the situation might change. Stay wise it was cleaned properly and regularly.

Very rude receptionists.
The rooms are smaller than on picture.
There’s very little privacy if you live on the ground floor.
I face some factory or something and it’s often very noisy.
The kitchenette top is burnt.
The provided frying pan is scratched to its bottom.
There’s very little place to put your clothes in which SO weird. One would expect to have proper shelves for clothes if they’re staying long term
The cleaning is quite useless - they only clean bathroom and the floor in the apartment, take out trash but kitchen, few shelves there are stay dirty
One morning, there was no hot water and they didn’t care to warn residents despite this was planned

DO NOT BOOK! The place is NOT as described. We booked through Airbnb (mind you, it was the price of an equivalent of 169$ a night, keep reading for more). First of all, for check-in processes, we did not get a reply from the host and it was a struggle to contact as no one would pick up the phone line. This resulted in us waiting outside the scheduled location awaiting an answer, amidst the message sent prior. Hours and still no answer. Until we were finally answered and told that ''the hotel will not answer any Airbnb message or request on the site'' (amidst again, it being listed there...). Secondly, we can see from the listing that this would be provided : 2 twin beds, a washer dryer (alledgly in the unit), hand washing soap, shampoo, conditioner, simple things listed on paper such as cooking utensils, or salt u0026 pepper, as well as daily cleaning, these were confirmed at reception verbally, however these were not noticed. They are all missing, and the reception simply told us that whatever could be bought ourselves, that it would be the handed solution, and that washer u0026 dryer would actually be downstairs u0026 pay-per-use. TV does not work, barely any channel works, unless you like radio music with no picture. There is no option to connect your device so it is basically useless. The soundproofing is horrible -- beware that you will get woken up and-or disturbed by neighbour units anytime even at night. Additionally, there is no phone in the unit, for contact to reception, and anyone with a hard time using local lines, will have to go downstairs each time. Also, there is a see-through window from the main apartment room to the shower (you see it in the picture if you look closely...), which is not appropriate unless it is assumed that you are traveling with an intimate lover, there is also what appears to be mold marks there on the ceiling AND on the walls of the bathroom near the towels you use... If they do not provide the daily amenities such as coffee, and you ask for some, they will literally tell you to go to the store and buy it yourself. The machine though is provided. Finally, in itself, the whole unit is tiny and way tinier than assumed or shown (two separated rooms are shown and it is not specified which one will be attributed or if it is available for a personal choice). And additionally, the service provided at reception is unsatisfactory, no one is ever there amidst them saying they will answer requests 24-7... SUPER horrible experience! This is like the worst unviersity dorm complex, pretending to be a hotel with hotel service but they do not provide you with anything. At all. Far from downtown too, with not much to see or explore. So just do yourself a favour and stay away from it.

One of the reception ladies treated me so badly since my arrival they accused me to not having any rservation and coming to the wrong place. They never appologized about it. Also the reception view was not like a hotel speaking and acting with respect but more like a top to buttom viewpoint. I won't pay again to such a place to speak or treat me like that. I would pay to be treated respectfully !!

Terrible reception and no greetings !
