I don’t know if the perceived standard for Japanese food has gotten to high or if I simply don’t know what I’m talking about. This place was nice. Had lunch here and definitely enjoyed it. A multitude of flavors for a very affordable price. Noting that blew me away tho. Tried matcha tea for the first time here… don’t get the hype. They had great fish sauce or something on the main plate and that was nice. The rice was very good. The rest of the sides were simply okay. The interior design of the place is definitely spectacular. Maybe I should have just ordered something better. All in all it’s worth a try.

We went to the restaurant to have their daily special lunch menu at around 13:00ish and it was already sold out. Apparently it’s so popular without a reservation it’s difficult to get it.
We had to wait for a while until a table opens up because it was already full. The staff was quite friendly and we had a great food there. Everything we tasted was authentic and it reminded me of the good time I had back in Japan. Staff is Japanese and the chef is also Japanese. Everything they have on the menu is authentic so it cannot be more legit than this.
The dessert (daifuku) they had was pre-maid/packaged stuff that you can get from a supermarket so I was a bit disappointed about it.
Still, it’s worth coming back to this cosy place for the absolute tasty meal. :)

Update:
We badly wanted to try out their special Bento so this time I called them to book a table and told them we all want to order a special Bento. A girl who answered the phone told me she could speak Japanese so we were talking in Japanese on the phone. She double-checked with the kitchen side if the special bento is still available and confirmed that they were.
When we got there, even though we reserved a table, we had to stand there for a while, completely unattended. The girl who was at the counter did not even greet back at us or did not come to us to check if we were taken care of. After a good 10 mins or so I went to the girl and told her about our reservation. It turned out that they thought our order was for a take-away and told us that the special bento is sold out. We told them we specially reserved it on the phone, as well as a table. The girl said she will check, and they put us on a table where usually bonsai were placed.
We waited for a long time like good 30 mins without menu. A very kind lady (probably owner) apologised to us and brought us menu cards which was a surprise to us because we thought we would get an answer whether or not they could still provide us the special bento.
When we explained that to the lady, she said she would double-check with the kitchen. Then we had to wait for another 30 mins or so, not knowing whether or not the special bento is available. We almost gave up and that was when staffs came to serve us the special bento.
The lady apologised again and again, and she was very attentive and kind. She even brought us really tasty match ice cream on the house to make up for it.
The special bento we finally had was absolutely tasty and it is really authentic, 100% Japanese. It is probably the most authentic Japanese food I have ever eaten in Europe which made me really happy.
Since their food is consistent, and always really good, I will not reduce the number of stars but I cannot say I had a pleasant experience the second time I was there. Obviously the girl on the phone did not understand what I said in Japanese and even between the girl and the other staff it seemed there was a lack of communication.

such a cute little restaurant, staffs were very friendly, food was great. I had the udon soup with pork meat. I personally have never been in Japan so I have no comparison in terms of taste and authenticity - but it definitely tasted good!

A very neat and clean restaurant, with polite and courteous staff.
The restaurant also sells some products from Japan, bonsai, Japanese books and some tea ceremony equipment.
We ordered a set menu, a dessert and two drinks for 27 euros and the food was good and fairly priced. I hope to try some other traditional Japanese desserts next time.

Finally found authentic Japanese restaurant here in Munich! And the staffs are Japanese too ????. I wanted a sukiyaki but they were out of beef so I ordered a teriyaki. Still, a FOODGASM feels for me. ????????????
