I went there with a group of kids where we loved looking at all the old toys together. We also discovered how creative people were in the past and that we could learn from it. The historic building itself has 5 stories where you can mainly look at the toys through the glass windows. The views from the windows are not to be missed. Planned time for the excursion is between 60-90mins. Have fun!

Interesting small museum in a beautiful tower.
Overall, there are not too many exhibits but more would hardly fit in the premises. With very extensive viewing and reading, one is through in about 1.5h.
The descriptions could be a bit more detailed and complete and could generally use some more love.
The entrance fee of 6€ feels fair to me and the museum is worth a visit.

After destroyed in the World War II,
The renovated Rathaus is still beautiful as in olden days. The design is still reflects with the gothic architecture. And the toy museum in this Town Hall is must visit. The grand hall was decorated beautifully with Morris dancers. The Town Hall is easily accessible from the Münich main train station and there is S-Bahn which is just before the city Town Hall. Usually this place is flooded with tourists irrespective of weekdays or weekends. The open place before the hall is always live with music and restaurants serving traditional foods. And the view to the new Town Hall is eye catching. One can-not stop clicking a picture to frame the memory. Overall, a great place to chill and walk into the historic Bavarian Capital.

This museum is surprisingly small and really felt like someone’s private collection, but that didn’t prevent it from having quite an array of interesting objects. I was happy to see that the captions were mostly both in English and German. Admission was 4€ which felt about right considering the location and the assortment of items. It was fascinating to see the development of toys over time, and this museum certainly had some old pieces. Part of what I enjoyed about this museum was the view from the high tower. If you are looking for more quick but interesting things to do in Marienplatz, I would recommend checking this museum out.

Interesting collection of old toys. Though I think children would get bored as they actually can’t play with them.

Access is via a series of steps upon which you can then access the lift to the very top,
