Great place to walk around and there grounds are open all night. Bring a flashlight as it’s extremely hard to see at night

Great Parterre is a small section of the Nymphenburg Park just behind the Castle. The grounds are well manicured, symmetric with walkways lined with statues. The Great Parterre extends westward from the Castle to the Nymphenburg Canal, which splits and circles the parterre and castle.

Give the area a few minutes of your time after your visit to the Castle, before you further explore the Nymphenburg Park grounds.

Ein großes Parterre (in der Gartenkunst ein flaches und niedrig bepflanztes Gelände) direkt vor dem Schloss. Für einen Barockgarten ist es aber sehr viel schlichter Rasen. Ein Hingucker ist wohl das Wasserbecken mit großer Fontäne. Des weiteren finden sich viele Skulpturen. Den besten Blick (und darauf hin wurde es wohl angelegt) hat man von der Terrasse des Schlosses (von da aus sieht auch der ewig lange Mittelkanal kurz aus).
