Big, noisy, lots of people and traditional brass Bavarian music live when it is holiday, but this is exactly what you look for going to the biergarten, ja? ;-) Food is simple but solid, and if you are looking for a salad there are two options only really: potato one or mortadella one. Shortly: this is no place for hungry vegan. But again: this is Bavarian biergarten, so...

However if you are looking for a solid mug (1L) of HB beer and baked pig knuckle to accompany it: this is the place. The knuckle only if you have teeth for it, as it is tasty but the crunchy skin requires some work on it. Fortunately you can go for the chicken instead.

Despite self service, aforementioned lots of people and noise it was surprisingly relaxing for me to eat and drink there, even being on my own.

Great place to visit, chill out and have some Bavarian food in a fun, inviting setting. The HB helles, potato salad and pork knuckle were all delicious. I would recommend recommend getting a small pretzel or sharing the ginormous one with a friend.

Great place especially in the summer. Service is good, everything went smoothly. Less crowded than other biergatens in the centre. Highly recommend!

The Chinese Tower (German: Chinesischer Turm) is a 25-metre wooden building resembling a pagoda at the Englischer Garten in Munich, Germany. The building was constructed from 1789 to 1790 and was opened to the public as an observation deck during the opening of the Englischer Garten in 1792. The tower burned down during the bombing of Munich during World War II and was reopened as a reconstruction in 1952. Today the tower is considered a landmark of the Englischer Garten.[1]

Summer is great. Bike tours end here, families can bring kids, music... In winter there's a small as market as well.

If you didn't visit when you were a tourist, you probably missed out. Walk around the lake and back to work up a thirst.

Could spend hours here. I’m an American and I haven’t been to many beer gardens but this one was quite nice and not too crowded, even on Friday.
