Delightful place packed full of art. You can think of it "kind of" (art snobs, don't assault me) a German Louvre. You can easily spend a day here.

Antiquarium (Room 7) is a 66-metre long hall richly decorated room and a real highlight of the Residenz Museum. This is considered to be the most lavish Renaissance hall north of the Alps and reason enough to pay entry fee into Residence.

The hall was built for Duke Albrecht V (1568-1571) for his collection of antique sculptures. Today you are able to view numerous busts and window decorated with over 100 views of towns, markets and palaces that existed during the 16th-century.

For full on and unobstructed views of Antiquarium, best to visit first thing in the morning so that you can make your way here prior to crowds setting in.

It's a good place to learn about Bavarian monarchy and also regional history. It costs around 11 euro, however it's worth the money. A must go when you are in Munich, especially if it is a rainy day. There are audio guides to pick up (included in the ticket price). Purchase a ticket to visit both the treasury and the residence.

The Antiquarium is one of the most beautiful parts of the museum. It's a fascinating view in the moment you enter the room. Pure art, fantastic!

Hall with outstanding architecture inside the Munich Residence, with busts paying tribute to Roman figures. Worth a visit!

Beautiful room ... loved it
