Had some delightful marzipan pastries and coffee once we were able to get wait staff to take our order. It was an hour before closing so I am not sure how that impacts service. It was just dessert and coffee so not sure why it would. There is a small museum with information about the history marzipan. The marzipan sculptures were amazing and well worth seeing. It is free to shop and browse.

This is the place were Marzipan became a thing 200 years ago. If you like Marzipan, this is Marzipan heaven for you! Its amazing to try in the cafe with a cappuccino especially the Nusstorte, mildly nice.
The only thing that is makes the place loose 2 stars, is the hospitality of the staff in the cafe, I understand that the place has so many people, yet they could be nicer in their replies and not showing that they are annoyed or becoming so hasty when asking questions about cakes contents.

I like their marzipan version compared to the real original marzipan. It's more tourist oriented, souvenir oriented and makes for the best gifts. They also have a gift wrapping counter!

I would like to add my favourite flavours: I always choose the "pick and mix" boxes and choose 2 each of Classic, Hazelnut cafe latte, dark chocolate praline, orange classic. The diversity in taste as well as colours forms the perfect gift!

Super famous Marzipane shop with various options. We visited both on Saturday and Sunday. Will recommend to come here on Sunday, less people and cozier. The price might seems to higher than the average, but the decorations inside were amazing. The cafe here was also nice. Both sides of the shop offer different cakes, better check both options before you make your decision. The Marzipane hot chocolate was really tasty. Definitely worth to try it.

I dined here on August 1, 2022, around 18:30.
Be aware that they run out of some items on the menu. I was limited to the krauter krabben. It's expensive and, in my opinion, not a good value in the quality to price ratio.
However, my marzipan nut cake was excellent.
Also, be aware that the place is mobbed and the waiting staff is overwhelmed. Expect delays and definitely check your bill for mess ups. This advice also applicable to the shop - I was overcharged by 10 euros.
Overall, I recommend this place for the cakes, but keep in mind that the neighboring cafes also sell the same pastries.
