Nicer than your average fountain ???? Beautiful bed of flowers surrounding this fairly large fountain, located right in front of the famous Gewandhaus concert hall. Nice to see if you happen to be around the corner in town...

I would not say that this fountain is very large, but it is very beautiful. In the center is an obelisk, at the base of which there are a lot of different sculptures. Or if you like, a whole sculptural group.
This is a very convenient meeting place in this part of the city, as the fountain is located on a spacious area a little far from the main traffic and foot-passengers, surrounded by an opera, a university and several other buildings of different orientations. Nearby public transport and there are benches for relaxation. A beautiful fountain and it is very pleasant to place to relax here.

See how wonderful it looks in both the halves of day. Every Person who has visited Leipzig must have seen this masterpiece in front of Gewandhaus. Any time of day come and sit calmly here and watch how the modern lives move around passing this unique and heritage Monument. Easy to find this place, close to the ???? of the city and Hoffe am Brühl. If you are not staying here in Leipzig and just come for 2-3 days, there are at least 5 places very nearby where you can rest your tired back after long walks and I bet this is one of them.

In Augustusplatz, great place to wait for friends. The Mendebrunnen is the only preserved part of the old square. The waterworks monument is magnificent. If in the area, you must visit the top floor of the nearby tower. Not very expensive, but offers great views all around Leipzig.
