The menu stated the goulash came with Rosenkohl. My German isn't great, but I read it thrice (thrice!) to check. See, goulash often comes with Rotkohl, which I despise. But this said it came with Rosenkohl. I love Rosenkohl. So, after checking for a fourth time, with my Google Translate app, and Leo, and my German phrasebook, I ordered it. I was so excited about the Rosenkohl.

It was Rotkohl. A big, huge (generous) pile of red cabbage. I hate red cabbage. I cried a little :(

The goulash was amazeballs, though. Really. Every bite was lovely. I recommend it. Even more, if you like purplish cabbage.

But please, Herr/Frau Lerchenest- change what it says on the menu. Us Rosenkohl lovers have needs too!

If I'm ever in Leipsch again, I will return

So... incorrect order delivered. Pic attached of the goulash. Looked great, but I ordered the potato soup, Thuringian sausage and sauerkraut. I do love goulash and I had to try hard not to eat it.

The soup was flavorful and good. All the meat was fat and gristle. Hard to decide if that was enough to leave me with a bad impression.

Sausage was impressive in flavor, potatoes flavorless and plain.

Holy hannah the sauerkraut was heavenly! Thickened, small sausage pieces, some carrot shredded, bay leaves. Perfect temperature. Oh my!

They get a star back for the kraut.

Loved the food as well as the ambience. The waiter was very friendly and the menu had a good options for vegetarians as well.
