The museum has a large number of exhibits, there are mummies, sarcophagi, plates. Friendly staff, Duration of stay, viewing of the exhibition about an hour, cost 5 euros adult 3 euros pupil/student. There are no restrictions on the number of people. Masks are required.

Visited the Egyptian museum in Leipzig last weekend and it is highly interesting. All kinds of old age materials and objects (and their respective origin and story) can be found here.

However it was a bit small in my opinion, I was expecting and vast collection and a corresponding size of the museum, but perhaps that was me.

For 5€/3€ discounted, it's still good

An interesting museum with a lot of history. For almost every exhibit there is a booklet with a lot of information. But unfortunately it's only in German. The museum is mostly focused on history and writing. I would really like if they would add more about Egyptian mythology.

Oriented towards children/families, and it was very loud because of kids hammering on stone in a little workshop at the main entrance. There were books with info next to the cases but with everybody touching them I didn't really want to. 5€ is also a little expensive considering the lack of an audio guide/info. Most museums in Leipzig are free or cheaper. However the redeeming factor boosting my rating from 3 to 4 stars was the double entrance to the university antiquities museum about 200 meters away

They wanted to see negative certificate for kids under the age of 6 I mean seriously do u think I'm testing the entire family for absolutely every building I'm entering? Schools don't give out covid test results that's ridiculous. So u don't get my money then

An attractive, well laid-out museum, with an extensive collection of artifacts. Well-worth a visit; be particularly certain to budget some time for looking at the artifacts in the depot upstairs. Plan between 75 and 90 minutes.

This is a small museum near the opera house. It houses the university's Egyptian collection. There are some good pieces especially the early stone work vases, palettes and mace heads. English translations of the display information would make it better. The stairs wouldn't best suit those with buggies or wheel chair users. Visit time should take less than an hour.
