Unfortunately but I have a pleasure to have surgery on pancreas cancer here. UK NHS said its noopetatable????. The rooms 10 stars out of 5????, super clean, staff constantly checking on you, everything went smooth and pain free(thanks to epidural and painkillers). I have been sent home when I was ready, no complications and, 7 month out and good so far. Highly recommend, plus beautiful town which I was able to see before surgery.

It might be unfair to rate it one star as it is only for Dr. Neef who seems to work here now and my rating is for her when she worked at Dr. Ebensberger's dentistry clinic. I was thrown to Dr. Neef for my ceramic crone as my previous dentist left the clinic. I already felt fishy as she suggested me to do a crone for another tooth without canal therapy (it turns out some other dentist can easily fill and fix it without much effort!!!), but anyway, the crone itself is a total nightmare, i paid over 600 euro myself and it gave me endless pain, first it was not strong and was more like sensitive feelings, i went to other dentists they couldn't figure it out. However about half a year ago, i suddenly had strong pain there and a headache on the same side, after many dentist and neurologist appointments, the reason was found, it was bcz of the crone! It's slightly too high and overtime it gave me biting issues. The worst part isn't over yet, almost the same time when i started the tooth pain, I got an infection in my nose and i didn't link them together. However, after the CT and ENT doctor's examination, it's also bcz of the tooth!!! (I mean, i didn't even mention the tooth problem to my ENT doctor but he figured it out via the CT) Now I need surgery in my nose to get rid of this infection!!! Just choose dentists carefully and i do hope that Ms. Neef stops being a doctor at all. She is clearly not competent and was trying very hard to dig money from her patients! Just avoid her at all cost if she is still there

I had a very bad experience with this hospital's International Admission Department for a family member, which requires urgent attention and speedy response. What you read about the hospital review here is true. I have no doubt on the doctor's capabilities, but in terms of administration, you'd probably get a stroke from dealing with them.
There are some helpful admin personnel, but my primary case manager is a nightmare.

I first approached them last year for a treatment in September, in which they were very slow in replying and eventually did not get back to me on the cost estimate. I have to search for options and proceeded elsewhere, thanks to their nonchalant attitude.

Fast forward to this year, I have to unfortunately ask for another treatment as the hospital has the particular treatment.

These are only SOME of the issues I am facing with them:
a) They will direct you with different emails, different PIC and no email trails to further confuse you and whoever that is picking up the slack from their team.

b)They reply by copying another email that they have sent you earlier, which you have replied.

c) Some of them do not really answer all your questions. Which you have to ask AGAIN in the next email. I tried to call them and explain in case it was just something lost in translation, but you can hear that they do not really give a hoot.

d) I was sent someone else's cost estimate, which is funny, because they were creating a lot of unnecessary bureaucracy about privacy earlier with the email.

e) I was asked to re-submit a lot of documents. And we had to do some unnecessary tests prior to any indication if the treatment is possible.

f) I guess the champion of it all that I was finally told that they are arranging a video counselling, but was cancelled 3 days later by telling them that they do not have the capacity to do it. In this day and age.

g) The entire conversation of 3 weeks just to gage if treatment is possible was replied with them being under "lockdown". Germany border is currently not closed, so is the state in which they are operating it. Urgent medical cases even allows for quarantine waiver for high risk countries ( in which we are not in ). I can only conclude that they do not want to do the paperwork, and self impose "lockdown".

Just to cover their tracks, the disjointed emails will make it appear that the doctors have just reviewed your case and they cannot accept it. This was an absolutely U-turn from telling us at least one week before that treatment is possible, and no mentioning of any lockdown.

My point is, if you have urgent medical case like mine, please seek somewhere else. It is not worth the anguish , time and pain with their very unprofessional approach.

My suggestion is for them to remove the international patient section from their website, because clearly, they are not adapt to handle them on a professional basis.

All your international patient wants to know immediately is:
1) Can they do the treatment
2) How much
Details can be ironed out.

It shouldn't take 3 weeks of mental torture, to arrive at that - we do not accept international patients due to a "lockdown", moreover an urgent life threatening case.

It's been six years since my father underwent pancreatic cancer surgery at Heidelberg Hospital. Actually it's hard to call it surgery - doctors opened his abdominal cavity and found that they couldn't cut out his tumor. All that happened despite their earlier assurances that they have a high level "know how" and that they are able to do it. Eventually the were able - to take away the remnats of hope...

...for "only" €20000...

They neglected my husband after his 8 hour operation that he was not able to recover from. The operation itself was a great success and he recovered from that pretty well, but because he was to get his vaq changed every 3 days, the let him go without food for several days at a time, once for 6 days that he lost 10 kgs that he never regained and almost went septic, and all because of other emergencies, this should never be able to happen in a learning university Klinik. Needless to say my husband passed away. Now he rests in peace
