I want to give a huge shout out to the hotel staff! They were cheerful, friendly and so helpful during our stay. We booked several rooms during an extremely busy conference and they went the extra mile to modify our bookings and help us with numerous packages that we had to ship. Thank you so much for making our stay pleasant!

Cannot get any worse than this, 1 star is way too much for you. The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. There was no water today, on 26.04 from 6 am to 3 pm, and literally nobody cared to inform us about it. When I asked at the reception why nobody informed us at the check-in (on 25.04) the receptionist told us there was a table next to reception where the information is written. I saw the table during check-in but it told about water issue on 25.04. So when did they update it? Apparently in the evening 25.04 and we didn’t see it. So I assume in this “hotel” you should be constantly on the lookout for information on some tables and other things next to the reception because otherwise nobody cares about informing you? But the best is yet to come as I told the receptionist he should have informed us about the water issue and that it is his job. He started SCREAMING at me !!! and telling me I won’t tell him what his job is ???? I told him he is disrespectful and he answered that I’m not respectful as well. Why? Because I told him something he didn’t like? And that’s how a receptionist behaves at work?! What a great way of treating your customers you have. He then stated I should go ???? so we happily checked out 4 days earlier and left the “hotel”. What a circus. Official complaint is on the way, cause if you think you can treat customers like that you are deeply mistaken. Never experienced anything like that, you should teach your stuff basic manners. I can only recommend to stay as far as possible from this “hotel”.

The Ibis Centrum Alster rooms seem to be an upgrade from the Ibis of yore that we used to stay in with our small children, nice! The breakfast buffet was also much better than we remember Ibis offering, the scrambled eggs and bacon were especially good. Staff throughout the establishment were friendly.

I had a very nice stay, this was my second time here and it was just as good as the first time. Great service, great location and good price.
Everything within walking distance, so perfect.

This might be a little subjective, but for someone who likes to sleep at 21 Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit) the room that I had did not reach that temperature even on the lowest setting. Opening the window did little to help despite having a cooler temperature outside. At night the street is noisy, so unless you don't mind the noise outside it might be best to close the window. The water coming out of the shower was either too hot or too cold. Without manually moving the desired temperature, the temperature would fluctuate up and down continuously, so I had to adjust the temperature up and down. This might've only been in my room.
