Room mixups, weird German remarks (the old man servicing us clearly thought I did not speak German), loud sighing from service personnel.
Unfortunate start for a romantic weekend getaway.

A little gem of a hotel. Warm, friendly and interested staff. Cosy, funny rooms. And great value for money.

The perfect hotel for a couple on a romantic getaway.

We had two great nights in this little hotel in the center of Hamburg. We had one of the top floor rooms with a balcony. A fun and kitschy room - though as the toilet doesn’t allow for much privacy, perhaps not the best room for a first date...

The hotel’s interior design is wonderfully camp and eclectic. It’s an old charming building with a lot of stairs and no elevator. So if you got a bad hip, you should probably request a room on the lower floors.

The breakfast buffet has everything you could wish for, including boiled eggs cooked to order. The staff is helpful and will gladly advice you on which sites in beautiful Hamburg you absolutely must visit.

Very fair price for 4 people in a (small) room. Minus: Room is a bit worn. There is very loud music in the night outside.
Plus: The room has what you need, and plenty of clean towels. The cleaning is good, and extra pillows are available. The staff is super freindly and helpfull! The morning buffet is very good and accomodates most needs and requirements. The placement is very Central.
Overall: Would come back if we needed a good and cheap place to stay in Hamburg. Feels like Home :)

Excellent location. Friendly helpful staff. Unusual decor. Adequate for our needs. Shower and toilet is at one end of room without door so need to be open to be open with your roommate.

No elevator! Rooms are old fashioned but have spirit of old times and bed is really amazing! But again hotel is tired and there is some smell inside.

Quieter than I expected it to be and friendly staff but not in the best area of Hamburg. It was great to be ae to get tea and coffee whenever we wanted.
We made comment on a coupe of things but had no reply from the staff which was a little disappointing and so only 3 stars.

Great place to stay in Hamburg. Close to the train station. Rooms where clean and spacious. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff!
