Zum Deutschen Haus is a quaint restaurant in Freiburg near the 'Dom of Freiburg Cathedral'. The food was excellent, the wait staff was pleasant, and atmosphere was as good as it gets. Things to know: the restaurant has eight tables that each easily fit a party of four to six. Additionally, the restaurant takes COVID quite seriously, and checks for vaccination status diligently. I look forward to going again if I'm ever in Freiberg!

We came in the afternoon, the server told us that the restaurant was full for the evening.
Walking around the city in the evening, we politely asked the waitress if by any chance She had a free table. She answered us: no problem, there is still a table outside or inside if we want.

After 2 minutes the same waiter (afternoon server with small glasses) told us to get up kick us out the table, and said that this table is not intended for us.

he was extremely rude!!

Appearance-based prejudice...

This Pub is not bad.
The waitress is not very helpful and not smiling at all. She pretends network did not work and i am afraid i paid 4 times. Unacceptable.

Worst service ever! we were treated in a deplorable way by the waiter who kicked us out of a table without apologizing when his colleague had placed us. Don’t go there!

Great regional and traditional dishes, very patient and understanding wait staff. Very popular with locals so make a reservation. My wife and I were walk in's and they had nothing but they did have a round top for 6 with only four dinning at it. They ask the people if they wouldn't mind adding us to their table and they said OK. Very enjoyable experience and a great way to meet and talk with locals. If you are looking for regional dishes, this is a great spot, located on a pedestrian only street, so very quiet and tucked out of the way. Just be aware that you have to be aggressive in wanting to pay your check, we waited 20 minutes before I had to put out my arm and block our server from walking by to pay the bill.

What a charming place!

We had good Badisch food:
Sour liver with roasted potatoes and sausages with potato salad. Both dishes were absolutely yummy.

Great price/value for great honest german food (and beer and wine of course).

Staff was very friendly.

I enjoyed a lovely meal here and excellent service. Stumbled across it when
I was heading to another restaurant. The shnitzel I got was fantastic. Good local spot! Nobody spoke English but we were able to communicate easily enough
