The place that was suggested by locals. Looks very simple outside and inside, but always full (please, try to book in advance). The waiter was very supportive and nice. The menu is not big, but it’s a good quality food. From the dishes we tried I highly recommend the ginger carrot soup and a turkey meat with risotto (with mango and chili), the meat was just melting in my mouth.

An excellent restaurant with an outstanding lunch offering. All dishes are carefully prepared - ours included a succulent filet of dorade with crisp skin, accompanied by a basil risotto (cooked perfectly al dente) and leg of duck with a light side of rice noodles with vegetables.
A well chosen wine list offers a fine selection of German wines at fair prices.
Speaking of fair prices, the lunch deal is astounding given the quality of the cooking. A very good espresso is included.

What an amazing experience in Freiburg! The staff were extremely polite and helpful and recommended the dishes.. We had the chicken breast, prawns and the creme brulee which was so good! The place has a really good vibe and the service is prompt! Would highly recommend this place!

We had a fish dish and a mushroom dish. I'd lamented to my wife just a month earlier - you get plenty of nice tasty vegetarian meals but you don't really get fine dining at the same level as meat/fish dishes.

Well, reader, I stand corrected.

The mushrooms in white wine sauce were just perfect - so many delicate and surprising flavours. You know when you have a meal with a properly unique set of ingredients that really synergise together.

The service was good and we sat outside on the charming street with wisteria over our heads.

Only thing was it was relatively expensive, we paid €60 for two mains and a litre of mineral water. But in this instance I would rather have paid that for this experience than €40 for another schnitzel on the square. Ultimately it's a fair price.

We ordered a Schnitzel which was served to us a few minutes later with just a few fried potatoes, with no effort at presentation.
We noticed a big difference between the dishes we received and the pictures of the dishes shared by other customers via the comments. And we have the unpleasant impression that this is because you practice a different treatment for tourists.
The most obvious example is the Appelstruddel, which was served to us raw (without any impalpable sugar or any decoration on the plate - the opposite of what can be seen on Cedric Rychen's photo from May 2022).
Given the experience, the prices seemed high to us.
Moreover, and last but not least, you discreetly added a 12% tip to our bill - without it being mentioned on the menu or when we paid.

Great little place and I had a great meal. I got the chefs menu with three courses and I can’t recommend it enough. In order. Duck liver with black lentils. Lamb with potatoes and cabbage with pancetta. Orange slices with orange whip cream.

We had a very tasty risotto and a perfectly-cooked fish. Service was also great. This restaurant is one of the little hidden gems of Konviktstraße.
