It was the first time we visit Freiburg and stayed in the Mercure Panorama Hotel. “Chez Eric” is in the hotel and after a long drive it was natural to have dinner there.
The restaurant has amazing panoramic views above the city of Freiburg im Brisgau and I suppose in the summer you can dine outside on the terrace.
The staff serving in the restaurant is very young but also very friendly but professional. Every time we made eye contact we’ve got a smile back, from every single staff member.
During the evening, Stephan, a charming young man, guided us through the menu and thanks to him and his colleagues we had a great experience.
The food is very good, prepared with care and presented with love. The combination with wine, offered in their “des amoureux” menu was well done as every single wine complimented the dish we were having.
The atmosphere is romantic, with candles on the table and subtle music.
Altogether, when in Freiburg, I advise you to dine in this restaurant as you’ll get value for your buck.

Great panoramic view of Freiburg, antiquated food, slow (but friendly) service. Recommended for people aged 60+ who don't care much for "modern" food trends like vegetarian, vegan, international cuisine. Very good traditional food in small portions, at relatively high prices.

Wonderful restaurant within a 4 star hotel. The panorama view is breathtaking. The menu did not seems all that different to other places but the preparation and taste was excellent.
The service speed lacked to be desired somewhat. It may not suit time limited visits.

What a service !!! The waiter from
China was one of the best I have ever had ! All the staff actually , the food is good as well and with a view ... 5 stars for sure !

Awesome experience, really friendly staff, and the food was good.

The servers were really good, waiting times good too.
I would give it 6 stars if I could.

No doubt the best in the region place as for seafood and service. There is also fantastic view to the city and mountains. Really recommend for business meeting, romantic date or family gathering event.
