The museum of the city of Frankfurt is small, but nice. It accurately presents the earliest history of this ancient town. As for the city archive on the first floor -- well, I'm disappointed with the people working there. I travelled 100 km only to find out that someone forgot to sent me an email. I needed expertise help and instead I got a history book...

An old lady did not let us in the exhibition room because we were wearing our jackets. She was just plain rude and didn’t explain anything. We asked another staff she said the cloak room is in the other end of the room we tried to enter. What was her point? Tried to make herself feel important. We gave back and tickets and left.

Old cloister converted in an exhibition space. It usually holds interesting "discursive" exhibitions about Frankfurt with panels and memorabilia. The cloister can be visited as well and by itself is reason enough to check this place. It's gold as well for people interested in Frankfurt's recent urban developments. Avoid visiting it when the guided tours take place, the room is practically full and it's nearly impossible to focus and enjoy the visit.

The frescos on the hallway walls were beautiful and we loved the structure. We will just have to come back when the museum is open. Apparently all museums in Frankfurt are closed on Mondays!
