Recommends this restaurant because of the food and the service (shout-out to Vincent u0026 Tony, you are a true heros!)
Good to know:
- This restaurant is inside the Nikko Hotel
- This restaurant is divided in three area's: (1) the sushi bar which is situated outside of the restaurant itself, (2) the teppanyaki tables in the main restaurant and, (3) the private dining tatami room
- Staff speak English, German and Japanese
- Parking can be done in the garage below the hotel. Fees apply.
Why I recommend this restaurant:
We had dinner in one of the private tatami rooms, the Yoshitsune room. Normally this only possible if you reserve for eight guests or more. However they made a special exception because my boyfriend planned to propose to me while dinning there. The room is beautiful. The tatami is neat and in true fashion we took our shoes off before entering the room. It's a bit of Japan inside of Düsseldorf. Vincent took excellent care of us. He recommended an excellent menu, which consequentially had the same name as the room we dined in. This involved various kinds of fish and Wagyu beef. Ingredients were fresh and of very good quality. The preparation of the courses and plating was very appealing in terms of vision and taste. Very well executed menu. Vincent's recommendations for accompanying wine with each course was excellent as well as recommendation for sake. He went above and beyond to get us things that were not on the menu. All in all, this was a great evening. Yes, it is pricey but we found it well worth it. This is truly an experience, if you can.. do try. It will put a lasting smile on your face.
Bonus tip: Don't have so many dinner guests or have a smaller budget? The rooms are part of the Japan tour you can book online on the visit Düsseldorf website!
