Sixt make no mention at the time of booking or with the confirmation that the location is closed due to Covid. On arrival at the airport there is no information except to say the desk is now closed and the closest office is in Dresden.
You might think they would have your car ready and an employee to meet people when they arrive. But no. You have to make your own decisions about whether to go to Dresden at your own expense or to try to get help on the phone line - which Sixt do not think to put anywhere on their closure sign.
The initial response on the phone was quite rude and I was repeatedly asked 'so what is the problem if you have a booking already'. I explained 3 times the location was closed and there were no instructions as to wait or proceed to Dresden. Eventually after 3 phone calls I got the response to wait and someone would come. 1.5 hours after first contact someone from Sixt arrived, looking very stressed. Various other renters approached the man, who was very quick and polite.
Real lack of thought by Sixt, just a few clear instructions and a contact line to the Dresden office, not the central call centre, would have been very helpful, as well as having the cars ready and an employee available. I counted at least 5 other renters.

Our reservation with a broker didn't work, but Max was able to quickly get is a car that worked well for our trip.
He also helped us upgrade to a size to accommodate all our luggage.
And when we had questions about road use permits, they we're happy to explain.

I really like to rent a car at this Dresden Airport. Very easy access to the service office, friendly stuff, close to parking. Cars very clean and new. I'll like recommend Sixt Airport Dresden to everyone.
