Since it was on Whit Monday, I was offered to book the brunch as a closed event. I did this and clarified all the details a week in advance by telephone with both the operator and the chef. When the day came, however, I stood in front of the locked door with my 30 guests. Fortunately, the Sankt Pauli, two corners away, was able to spontaneously accommodate so many guests and we still had a nice day with very good food.
The operator wanted to tell me afterwards that he hadn't heard from me and therefore called off the event - without contacting me. Unless he has severe memory problems, he must be incredibly clueless. Either way, he is absolutely unreliable, doesn't keep agreements, communicates sloppy or not at all and is therefore absolutely incompetent for his job.
Maybe Café Seiten is a nice place with good food, but I would advise against anyone planning an event here.

Als der Tag gekommen war, stand ich jedoch mitsamt meinen 30 Gästen vor verschlossener Tür. Zum Glück konnte das Sankt Pauli zwei Ecken weiter spontan so viele Gäste aufnehmen und wir hatten trotzdem einen schönen Tag mit sehr gutem Essen.
Der Betreiber wollte mir im Nachhinein erzählen, dass er nichts mehr von mir gehört hat und die Veranstaltung deshalb abgeblasen hat - ohne mich zu kontaktieren. Wenn er nicht starke Gedächtnisprobleme hat, muss er unglaublich verpeilt sein. So oder so ist er absolut unzuverlässig, hält Absprachen nicht ein, kommuniziert schlampig oder auch gar nicht und ist somit absolut inkompetent für seinen Job.
Vielleicht ist das Café Seite ein netter Ort mit gutem Essen, aber ich würde jedem davon abraten hier eine Veranstaltung zu planen.
