This is one of the place where the 3rd German Empire was born. The villa was built in the early 20th century by the banker and baron Kurt Freiherr von Schröder from Hamburg.
Rumour has it that on the 4th of Jan. 1933 mr. Schröder organised a secret meeting with Adolf Hitler among others in which he was representing the financial aristocracy. His goal was to make sure that Germany elects a strong leader who was to help the elite to profit to the maximum.
Today, a bronze plaque in front of his Cologne villa commemorates the unfortunate meeting from 1933.
